25 new sites, and the danger list.

UNESCO recently added new sites to the register. This site now holds all 1,273 inscribed properties, up from 1,248. The 25 sites added at the most recent World Heritage Committee session are all here, you'll find them under Newest Additions.

The larger addition is danger status. 58 properties are currently on the List of World Heritage in Danger, and they now carry an In Danger badge wherever they appear, the site list, country pages, the map. They also have a page of their own at World Heritage in Danger, grouped by region with the year each was listed.

On the globe, threatened sites burn brick-red instead of their category color, and a new In Danger chip filters them. Switch the other three chips off and you're looking at the danger list alone.
